“The Queen of paranormal romance.”
—USA Today
A classic from #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan, Lair of the Lion is a dark-edged and enthralling take on the beloved “Beauty and the Beast” fairy tale. It is the breathtaking story of a beautiful, penniless aristocrat who promises herself to the handsome, powerful, mysterious, and not wholly human Don Nicolai DeMarco in order to free her imprisoned brother—even though legend has it that the Don will destroy any woman he weds. Perhaps best known for her bestselling “Dark” series, featuring the haunted and mesmerizing immortal Carpathians, Feehan is arguably the biggest name in paranormal historical romance—and any reader who loves passionate love stories tinged with the supernatural should enter the Lair of the Lion.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Best known for her vampire romances (Dark Guardian, etc.), Feehan adds a gothic twist to a classic fairy tale in this eerie and engrossing 19th-century romance. In a desperate attempt to save her brother, Lucca, from the evil clutches of the grasping lord who has imprisoned him, Isabella Vernaducci, a courageous but impoverished noblewoman, ventures into the Alps to search for the elusive and dangerous Don Nicolai DeMarco, believing him the only man powerful enough to save Lucca. To her surprise, Nicolai offers her a deal: he will aid her if she consents to be his bride. Isabella agrees before learning of the DeMarco curse which condemns the DeMarco men to be seen as "the beast" and prophesies that Nicolai will "rip the heart" from the one he loves. Suspense simmers in the DeMarco keep, where chilling cries are heard long into the night and Nicolai's "pet" lions roam. Though the relationship between Nicolai and Isabella is overwrought at times he frequently tries to save her from himself by attempting to send her away they're a perfectly matched pair in terms of temperament, and their steamy sex scenes heat up the pages. With its guileless heroine, masterful hero and mystical overtones, Feehan's inspired retelling is likely to garner her the attention she deserves. (On sale Sept. 3)

Lair of the Lion
Wow! This book is an excellent read. Feehan has managed to create an atmosphere of true romance. I strongly recommend this book if you want hot steamy love scenes mixed with true love.
The best
This book was the best most amazing storyline kept me on the edge all time I could not put this book down I even read slow so the book won't end I loved it from the begging you will be hooked
Too bad, so sad
The story is great but a fourth of the book is just porno. Too much, too often. Funny thing, the best male writers sell many books and have no sex in them at all. It is too bad this author does not realize her story and the way she writes would stand on its own. People do buy books and enjoy reading them when there is not on going sex scenes that take up whole chapters - sometimes almost two chapters or more at a time. I'd give 5 stars for the story but being nice to only subtract 3 for the inconvenience of spending so much time skipping that which I don't want to read. It is beyond a love making scene!
