In the enhanced edition of Red, Sammy Hagar, through video and words, tells the outrageous story of his tear through rock 'n' roll, detailing the backstage antics and nonstop touring that have made his voice instantly recognizable. Beginning with his musical coming-of-age in the blue-collar towns of California, Sammy traces his rough and determined rise to fame, working harder than anyone else out there and writing songs about the things he loved—fast cars, loud parties, and lots of good times.

Van Halen story makes the book
Overall a good book because Sammy connected with so many interesting people during a time when arena rock was huge. He seems to tell his story in a straight forward way and pulls no punches.
He's been a huge success in life because he was always doing other things other than just music. He also seemed to have a good sense when people were not doing him right. He would not hesitate to make hard calls if needed. Like any businessman would.
Always writing music kept his work fresh. But his life with Van Halen makes the book. Eddie and Alex were crazy guys who did some funky stuff. Eddie in particular was a nut job until he sobered up just recently. But they were hugely talented and their timing to work together made them the biggest rock band in the world.
Sammy does think pretty highly of himself, but what the heck, he's had quite a life.
Awesome
I couldn't stop till I finished it. What a remarkable life. A true inspiration. I always knew Sammy was gifted musically but I had no idea how great his business sense was. This is a true American Dream story. Way to go Sammy!
Great book
I really enjoyed the book. He is shockingly candid about his relationship with Van Halen. He did not hold back anything.
