Publisher Description

The international bestselling series with over 5 million copies sold in the U.S. alone!

Several years have passed since the apprentice and his master, Will and Halt, first met, and Will is finally a full-fledged Ranger with his own fief to look after. The fief seems sleepy—boring, even—until Lord Syron, master of a castle far in the north, is struck down by a mysterious illness. Joined by his friend Alyss, Will is suddenly thrown headfirst into an extraordinary adventure, investigating fears of sorcery and trying to determine who is loyal to Lord Syron. As Will battles growing hysteria, traitors, and most of all, time, Alyss is taken hostage, and Will is forced to make a desperate choice between his mission and his friend.

Perfect for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, T.H. White’s The Sword in the Stone, Christopher Paolini’s Eragon series, and George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire series.

B.Liddle ,

Book 5 not 6

The intro and outro both say this is book 6, it is in fact book 5. Read well, though the character voices the narrator chose were a little questionable and semi stereotypical.

Book = Terrific, Narrator = ehhh

Wonderful book series. I grew up reading them and am sharing them with my son. This narrator was extremely hard to listen to, which is why I had to rate this one lower than the others.

Cro Quill ,

Not crazy about the new narrator.

I was shocked that John Keating wasn’t narrating this. At first I liked the sound of Stuart Blinder’s reading voice. Then he started doing some of the voices of characters and some of them had a sing song quality to their voices. In addition, the Skandians sound like the Swedish Chef from the Muppets.
Now I’ve listened to Stuart Blinder narrating other books so I am surprised he didn’t do as well reading The Sorcerer of The North. By comparison it sounded like he was trying too hard when he read this.
