“You will gain the tools you need for living the life God has called you to.”—Kyle Idleman, pastor and author of Not a Fan
“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”—1 Timothy 4:8
Most of us want to know the Bible better, but few reach our goal, often because we’re too busy or we don’t know where to start. Core 52 removes both barriers, offering a common-sense solution that fits into our busy lives. Respected Bible professor and teaching pastor Mark E. Moore developed this proven process from thirty-five years of helping people grow deeper in God’s Word.
Each week features a brief essay, memory verse, Bible story, trajectory verses, and practical ways to put what you’ve learned into practice. An optional “Overachiever Challenge” offers the chance to memorize the top 100 Bible verses by year’s end.
This simple approach allows you to become familiar with the big ideas of the Bible in less time and with less effort than other reading plans. In one year, you can master the core of the Bible—focusing on topics from God’s will to worry, happiness to holiness, and leadership to love. These fifty-two core passages are lenses through which you can read the rest of the Bible with clarity and confidence.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In this favorable debut meant to be read daily over the course of a year, Moore, pastor at Christ's Church of the Valley in Phoenix, Ariz., helps Christians increase biblical competency through the study of 52 verses in order to "move from Bible curiosity to Bible confidence." In lessons designed to take 15 minutes each, Moore introduces key Biblical concepts and themes, such as creation, unity, holiness, and love, and provides in-depth analysis of biblical figures including Moses and Peter. Moore's essaylike chapters each revolve around a question ("Who created the world?", "What is a gospel?", and "If God is love, why am I supposed to fear him?") that, despite their brevity, will leave readers with much to ponder. Bible verses, which Moore suggests for daily study, are listed at the end of each chapter alongside a weeklong list composed of five assignments. Throughout, he suggests interactive practices for integrating ideas learned from scripture, such as performing a "media audit" to understand how one's media consumption compares to one's biblical study and periodically cleaning out one's closet to find donations for the needy. Moore's authoritative lesson plans and useful strategies for implementing them will appeal to Christians looking for a crash course Bible study.

Great Life Application!
I attend Mark Moore’s church, and since I know him to be a brilliant Bible scholar, I was intimidated to read his book. I thought it would be way over my head. It’s not, though. It is designed in a way that not only deepens your understanding, but actually gives you small actionable ways to implement what you learn into your daily life. It’s led to some thoughtful discussions with friends and family, so much so that some of them have gone out and bought it. Thanks for this, Pastor Mark!
