After Estefania attempts some daring night surfing, the other teenagers attempt to rescue her in a small, ill-equipped boat; engine problems soon strand them. Griffin (Burning Blue) gives his characters just enough know-how to keep them from being completely helpless, but the situation is clearly beyond their control. Police emails and other communications provide brief respites from the rapidly degrading situation on the boat. Profound moments such as when Matt realizes that the "cruel" sun "was just being what it was. A mindless, merciless star that would shine on whatever got in its way" will haunt readers as much as the lethal injuries, worsening weather, class friction, and psychological instability the teenagers face. Great book!
I actually read this book when I was in fourth grade people told me I was to young for this book and to find something easier to read but I proved them wrong and I actually really liked the book hands down a really good book but not the best.

I love this book!!! It is my favorite book. I usually don't get into to many books but this one is great through the whole book.😀
Title
Adrift was really good and I read it in around 5 hours. It was extremely sad and certain things were described a little too descriptively. I internally cried, gagged, got happy, and got really mad. It's very emotional but Adrift had alot of depth. No pun intended. I do not reccomend this for kids that are not in at least 7th grade yet. The book kind of grossed me out at points and many chapters were very close to making me cry, like literally sobbing. I had to read this for summer reading though, so I made myself read!
