No matter where you’re at in life, it’s hard to feel successful when you’re hounded by anxiety and self-doubt. Just ask Tara Schuster. Despite her professional success, the playwright and TV executive was plagued by loneliness and negative thoughts stemming from her childhood. Schuster eventually discovered the tools to change her life, and her empathetic and quirky memoir-meets-self-help-guide is here to share them with you. As the book’s narrator, Schuster exudes warmth and candor, creating a comfortable space for us to work out some of our most deeply personal issues. The basic idea at the heart of her advice is re-parenting yourself—mentally giving yourself the unconditional love and support that may have been missing when you were growing up. But learning how to love yourself can be a pretty huge task, so Schuster breaks it down into smaller, practical exercises you can incorporate into your daily life—as well as some she admits are a little weird but work for her. Changed. My. Life.
This book literally changed my life. I saw a lot of my own life in Tara’s description of hers and I related to so much of what she said. She makes you feel like you are truly just having coffee with a friend and talking about past experiences and getting advice on how to nurture yourself. Thank you Tara for writing a book that made me feel like we are now officially besties even though we have never met!

This book was everything and that much more! Encouraging, uplifting, motivating, empowering, and truthful! So grateful I heard a pod cast that had Tara on it, that made me buy this book simply based off of the name. I have my journal that I write in daily and am slowly gaining my power to buy my lilies.
