Nora, the heroine of this adorable and fun rom-com, knows all the tropes of the romance genre. After all, she’s a literary agent. While on vacation from the city in a quaint North Carolina town, Nora runs into her archenemy, Charlie Lastra, the editor who rudely trashed her client’s new book. Nora’s aware that, according to the rules of a romance novel, their hate should turn to love—and the crazy part is that it does. We love how Emily Henry puts a self-aware twist on the romance genre. And narrator Julia Whelan perfectly captures Henry’s witty banter and will-they-or-won’t-they tension. If there’s room in your heart for an inventive love story, Book Lovers is for you.

It grows on you
My first review was 3/5 stars but as time went by and I went through a major reading (audiobook) spree, I realized this was one of the better pop women’s fiction book because of the witty dialogue be the mains and the obvious love of the author for literature, writing, and stories in general.
For the Nesta girlies!
Can I just say I love the recent trend of the female mc just being them - perfectly imperfect. I found another character who I can relate to and understand with whole heart.
I felt like the second half of the story was a bit dragged out, but I still loved it. Just know you’re going to have to buckle down and keep reading when you think you’re getting to the good stuff.
