Monroe squeezes everything she can from this novel's melodramatic plot, but it never feels as ominous as it should, nor does the tidiness of the conclusion enhance the book's already-faint sense of verisimilitude. What was interesting about Annette is covered in the earlier books.

Great Storyteller
Good book. Don't understand why her novels have excessive chapters.
Comical
God Don’t Play is when I realized either Annette wasn’t the smartest cookie or she pretended well. The things she allowed to happen to her just didn’t sit well with me. She wasn’t desperate she was downright foolish and I LOVED every minute of it lol. Rhoda is Annette’s best friend and has a daughter, Jade. That little thing is something else! I know a “Jade” in real life so it was her times 5. I hoped throughout the book that Annette would toughen up but she waited too late like always. I wish I could have a talk with her…..GREAT READ!
Takes awhile to find antagonist
Good read just takes awhile to find the antagonist, a lot of fillers especially from books 1 and 2 but finally by chapter 58 out of 73 is where we readers find out who the antagonist is .
