Publisher Description
A national bestseller—adapted into a movie starring Natalie Portman and Susan Sarandon—Anywhere But Here is the heart-rending tale of a mother and daughter. A moving, often comic portrait of wise child Ann August and her mother, Adele, a larger-than-life American dreamer, the novel follows the two women as they travel through the landscape of their often conflicting ambitions. A brilliant exploration of the perennial urge to keep moving, even at the risk of profound disorientation, Anywhere But Here is a story about the things we do for love, and a powerful study of familial bonds.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Ann, the narrator of this engaging look at mother-daughter relationships, is uprooted from Bay City, Wis., by her mother, Adele, so that she can become a child star in Los Angeles. PW praised Simpson for her "grasp of human relationships and sheer readability.''

🤍🤍🤍
A very thoughtful book that has a lot of stories over the years of a mother and daughter. However, it is very slow and the times jumps a lot and it is all over the place with different perspectives every minute.
Anywhere but Here
I can't recommend this book, it had interesting moments, but it was a slow read.
Anywhere but Here
I try to read often, at least two books a month. I tried to let this book flow, to join itself together but it just remained disjointed. Sorry I really tried to let the author work and enjoy this book but the best way I can describe this book is a painfull read.
