Publisher Description
Acclaimed author Elizabeth Haydon returns with a heartbreaking tale of love and valor in The Weaver’s Lament, the ninth and final installment of her USA Today bestselling Symphony of Ages series that began with Rhapsody.
For a thousand years, the lands ruled by the Cymrian Alliance have been at peace. When the brutal death of a dear friend catapults the kingdom to the brink of civil war, Rhapsody finds herself in an impossible situation: forced to choose between her beloved husband, Ashe, and her two oldest friends, Grunthor and Achmed. Choosing her husband will mean the death of thousands of innocents. Siding against him will cost Rhapsody the other half of her soul, both in this life and the next.
In The Weaver's Lament, the lines between the past and future are irrevocably blurred, and the strength of true love is tested in unthinkable ways. Bestselling author Elizabeth Haydon has delivered a spectacular conclusion to the Symphony of Ages.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
The ninth and final chapter of Haydon's popular Symphony of Ages epic fantasy series (after The Hollow Queen) wraps up loose ends and sends its main characters into retirement in suitably dramatic fashion. After 1,000 years of high-stakes magic, intrigue, and battle, the celebrated Three musician Rhapsody, the ruler of the Cymrian Alliance; Achmed the Snake, king of the Firbolg; and the giant Falstaffian Sergeant-Major Grunthor are feeling their mortality and ready to leave rough adventure behind. They feel they've done all there is to do to protect their work. But trouble has a way of finding the Three, and now a surprising murder fans the flames of old conflicts between Rhapsody and her husband, Ashe, who is also fighting his own nature's call to leave his human body behind and transform into a dragon for good. Haydon juggles a number of story threads, and the murderous plot twist feels contrived, but subsequent events unfold to a workable conclusion, bringing a cast of beloved characters to their well-earned rest.

The Weaver's Lament
A fitting end to a fantastic series. I love this author, this story, these characters. Wow!
Pace yourself much?
After so many books based on a pacing that was glacially slow with many long, redundant retellings of the previous goings on, this book is a sprint not a marathon. So many things happen so quickly that it feels like this was supposed to be 3 books. It does, however, wrap up the story and tie many loose ends.
