She loved her work and desired intensely to please the Chief Shepherd, but happy as she was in most ways, she was conscious of several things which hindered her in her work and caused her much secret distress and shame.
Here is the allegorical tale of Much-Afraid, an every-woman searching for guidance from God to lead her to a higher place.

Good then, even better now
Authors like St. John of the Cross, St. Theresa of Avila and St. Gregory of Nyssa are among my heroes. But I was finally inspired to return to this little book. I had read it as a freshman in High School and retained only the impression it made on me. It was good then. Now, four decades later, it seems as though ‘Hinds Feet’ and Song of Songs have guided much of my life, which is so much better for the moments inspired by them. God is as good as He is mysterious. Highly recommended!
