Publisher Description
In this novel in Jim Butcher’s #1 New York Times bestselling series, an old debt puts Chicago wizard Harry Dresden in harms way...
Harry’s life finally seems to be calming down. The White Council’s war with the vampiric Red Court is easing up, no one’s tried to kill him lately, and his eager apprentice is starting to learn real magic. For once, the future looks fairly bright. But the past casts one hell of a long shadow.
Mab, monarch of the Sidhe Winter Court, calls in an old favor from Harry. Just one small favor he can’t refuse...one that will trap Harry Dresden between a nightmarish foe and an equally deadly ally, and one that will strain his skills—and loyalties—to their very limits.
And everything was going so well for once...
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Intricate yet accessible plotting and near-Arctic winter weather mark the 10th Harry Dresden adventure from bestseller Butcher (after 2007's White Night). A friendly snowball fight opens the Chicago-based wizard-detective's latest tale, but it's not long before a host of more dangerous foes are out for Harry's blood. A missing human mobster is said to be seeking greater influence among Chicago's extranormal population, but the true threat proves both more subtle and of much greater consequence. Butcher smoothly manages a sizable cast of allies and adversaries, doles out needed backstory with crisp efficiency and sustains just the right balance of hair's-breadth tension and comic relief. Encounters with a series of increasingly dangerous "Billy Goats Gruff" unfold with particular cleverness, and key developments involving Sgt. Karrin Murphy, Harry's reluctant police liaison, will intrigue seasoned fans as well as newcomers attracted by last year's TV adaptation of the series.

Best of the Dresden Files So Far!!!
I have read all of the previous Dresden books, and Jim Butcher really goes all out on Small Favor. Amazing. Exciting. Thrilling. Fast, Fast, Fast Paced. Just a few of the words that comes to mind after reading this novel. Get the book, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy.
A triumph of fiction
In my opinion one of the best books I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. A wild ride from start to finish, simultaneously the apex of a long arc upward in severe consequences for our protagonist while teasing what we don’t know and what is yet to come in a way that tells us like a boxer in the 5th round, “it’s only getting started.” Jim Butcher demonstrates an adept understanding of the what it means to help others share the weight of the world. As a veteran and former paramedic, and private investigator in training, Harry is a detective’s detective. Truly well written, the characters are the book’s strengths, and Harry shines in this one.
Excellent Read
