Publisher Description
Jackson Godspeed is the hottest young Angel in a city filled with them. He's days away from becoming a full Guardian, and people around the world are already competing for the chance to be watched over by him. Everyone's obsessed with the Angels and the lucky people they protect - everyone except for Madison Montgomery.
Maddy's the one girl in Angel City who doesn't breathlessly follow the Angels on TV and gossip blogs. When she meets Jackson, she doesn't recognize him. But Jackson is instantly captivated by her, and against all odds the two fall in love.
Maddy is swiftly caught up in Jackson's scene, a world of glamour, paparazzi - and murder. A serial killer is on the loose, leaving dead Angels' wings for the police to find on the Walk of Fame. Even the Guardians are powerless to protect themselves in the face of this threat . . . and this time it's up to Maddy to save Jackson.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Speer, a music video director, makes a solid literary debut with a romantic thriller set against the backdrop of a transformed Los Angeles, a true City of Angels. A century ago, angels revealed themselves to the world. Soon after, they began charging (exorbitantly) for their protective services and have become the ultimate celebrities, commanding immense wealth, power, and popularity. When hottest-of-the-hot angel Jackson Godspeed meets waitress Maddy Montgomery, it's a Cinderella story with a twist. The media goes wild, but their families forbid the burgeoning romance for reasons that hark back to the angels' darkest secrets. Accurately hitting on celebrity-obsessed culture and the dichotomy between the glitterati and everyday people, Speer blends romance and mystery to deliver a fresh take on the "angel novel," first in a planned trilogy. The author draws on several of the more well-trod aspects of the paranormal genre (hidden destinies, forbidden love), yet strong writing, well-rounded characters, and an enticing hook in the form of the mercenary/celebutante angels breathe life into the world Speer has created. Ages 12 up.

AMAZING!!
I came across this book by mistake and decided to buy it and give it a shot. I'm so happy I didn't find the book I was looking for because I absolutely loved this story, especially closer to the end of the book I went through so many emotions and it ended better then I would have thought. Unfortunately I finished the book in less than 24 hours and I still just wanna keep reading, can't wait for the next book! Good read thank you Scott Speer.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!!
From the first page until the last I couldn't put this book down! I snuck away to empty conference rooms at work and even cancelled a date with my boyfriend to read Immortal City. This book is riveting from beginning to end. I'm crossing my fingers for a trilogy and dare I say a movie.
