Artist and interior decorator Taylor Summers is sketching in Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains when she witnesses two hired killers and their intended victim. Taylor disrupts the boy's murder and flees into a mountain cave; she emerges to the news she has been declared dead by the local sheriff and is presumed responsible for the boy's kidnapping. As a "deceased" fugitive, Taylor resourcefully employs skills learned from her father and the Internet to survive until she can contact the boy's uncle, wealthy but trust-allergic Kennedy McManus, and share her story. Taylor is likewise sought by Kennedy, who's certain she's still alive, as well as the mysterious Jimmy, the power behind the hit men. The players' paths converge in Virtue Falls, Wash., which is still recovering from the events of the first installment, and deadly games play out with occasionally hyperbolic scenes until the explosive conclusion. Despite the hardcover format, this slightly overblown thriller has a fun mass-market vibe.

Great book, but all your books a good.

I was loving this book, it was very exciting.and I was rooting very hard for things to turn out right. It was a page turner and I couldn’t put it down. It looked like it had turned out good; but I was very disappointed at the end!
Great Second Book in series!
I've been a Christina Dodd fan for years, when she ventured into romantic suspense, I just followed along. I'm really enjoying her Virtual Falls series. They are stand alone, although there is cross over of some secondary characters and we get to revisit the main couple from book one. I have to say, as a novel, I enjoyed this story more than the first. But, the romance was almost an after thought. I thought I would mind that, but Summer's (Taylor) character was so well done, her story so engrossing, I didn't care that the romance was secondary. The storytelling just catches you up and I found myself flying through the pages to see what was going to happen to Summer next.
I don't like to give away anything that happens in my reviews, but the last third of the book, I loved the suspense and how everything played out. The cast of characters was just fantastic, and I have to say, I really wasn't sure where Summer was going to end up.
Ps. I really want to see Kateri get her own HEA (even if she doesn't get her own book)
