Took A Swing And A Miss For Me
I’m going with and overall of 3.5 Stars for The Echo Wife.
The synopsis (I’ll let you read that) intrigued me for sure so I thought, “What the heck, I’m in.” I will start by saying it is def an easy read. It’s straightforward with some flashbacks of childhood events, mixed with some scientific info on human cloning, then back to storyline again.
My Likes:
* Fresh/ unique synopsis to look forward to
* Authors simple writing style
* Narration
* The pace being somewhat steady the first quarter of book
My Dislikes:
* Being let down after being intrigued with synopsis
* Pace slows down quite a bit after first quarter of book
* Waiting for most anything to happen but ultimately it never did
* Having nobody in the book to root for or even like. This left me not really caring what happened to any of them really. Give me a character to half care about.
* The ending just kind of flopped. I remember thinking, “Seriously, that’s it?”
Narration gets 5 Shiny Stars! Xe Sands is an awesome narrator and she did a great job bringing to life The Echo Wife. I wouldn’t hesitate listening to any audiobook that interested me knowing she narrated it. Great job!
I will say this, I will most certainly try other (audio)books by this author because I was not completely put off with this book.
