Meh...it's just ok
I like the whole time traveling theme but the details are often scant and murky. It skips around a lot and something's just don't make sense. It's not cohesive and quite often it veers so far from reality that I was left asking myself what just happened. Isabelle seems to just accept that her sister is missing and is ok, like really? The reason Alisandir doesn't want to remarry is thin and flimsy. He resists the idea of marriage for most of the book and then in a single sentence he changes his mind. (Pained look). His rejection of his son is also thin and trite. I'm still not sure why he decided to just reject an infant.
I think this could have been better if more attention to detail was paid instead of constantly skipping time in a single sentence. Sorry to say its just ok, not great.
