Customer Reviews
Clash of Empires.
I love historical fiction. I have read just about all of Simon Scarrow and Adrian Goldsworthy and just found Ben Kane. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this and the follow up novel about the Roman invasion of Greece. Great characters with an equal perspective from the opposing sides this book is quite a page turner. Lots of historical details make for great fiction and this book is packed with them. The Greek Phalanx is fleshed in a way I had never understood and I had always wondered how the Roman legion compared. This book ( and The Falling Sword) now puts the comparison clearly in my mind. Low and high ranking characters are developed thoroughly from beginning to end making this book a very satisfying reading experience. 9.5 out of 10!
Love this book
Wasn’t expecting such a deep and detailed book with such memorable characters
