Publisher Description

On Christmas Eve in 1985, a hunter found a young boy's body along an icy corn field in Nebraska. The residents of Chester, Nebraska buried him as "Little Boy Blue," unclaimed and unidentified-- until a phone call from Ohio two years later led authorities to Eli Stutzman, the boy's father.

Eli Stutzman, the son of an Amish bishop, was by all appearances a dedicated farmer and family man in the country's strictest religious sect. But behind his quiet façade was a man involved with pornography, sadomasochism, and drugs. After the suspicious death of his pregnant wife, Stutzman took his preschool-age son, Danny, and hit the road on a sexual odyssey ending with his conviction for murder. But the mystery of Eli Stutzman and the fate of his son didn't end on the barren Nebraska plains. It was just beginning. . .

Gregg Olsen's Abandoned Prayers is an incredible true story of murder and Amish secrets.

Not his best work

Unfortunately plagued with the same issue as some of the other Olsen books. Dragged on beyond beyond what the reader should bare

Shocking!

Extremely shocking story! Extreme religion and abuse can make you do wrong things to your own family...

This have to be the worst and saddest story I have read about true crime, after I finished this one I stopped reading for while about the subject...

So many Characters!

This book had so many different characters that at times it was hard to remember who they were. (Thankfully, I was able to use the search button to go back and remind myself who they were!) There were also a lot of characters that really had no need to be in the story at all. They were completely random characters/situations that made no difference as far as the story was concerned. There was also a TON of disgusting gay sex that, in my opinion, didn’t need to be in the story in such graphic detail. It was completely UNNECESSARY! Ended up having to skim and skip a lot of the pages. Should have just quit and deleted the story. Story could have been done in a magazine article or short crime story instead of all the nasty stuff that was written. Wish I could get my money back because it was a complete waste of my time and money.
