Publisher Description

From the acclaimed author of Still Missing comes a psychological thriller about one woman's search into her past and the deadly truth she uncovers.

All her life, Sara Gallagher has wondered about her birth parents. As an adopted child with two sisters who were born naturally to her parents, Sara did not have an ideal home life. The question of why she was given up for adoption has always haunted her. Finally, she is ready to take steps and to find closure.

But some questions are better left unanswered.

After months of research, Sara locates her birth mother---only to be met with horror and rejection. Then she discovers the devastating truth: Her mother was the only victim ever to escape a killer who has been hunting women every summer for decades. But Sara soon realizes the only thing worse than finding out about her father is him finding out about her.

What if murder is in your blood?

Never Knowing is a complex and compelling portrayal of one woman's quest to understand herself, her origins, and her family. That is, if she can survive. . . .

The Power of Cult Vs The Power of Self

This book, based on cult behavior and things that happened long ago are a winning combination for this book. It begins a little more slowly than some of her other books, due to the fact the book begins in present tense and then moves backwards in time, interweaving then and now. I felt angry reading part of this book due to cowards who couldn’t do the right thing. On the other hand the power of cult behavior that prays on the vulnerable is heart breaking. There is some level of predictability in this book, although there are a few surprises that keep it fresh. This author has a talent letting us into the minds of the characters to understand their pain and motivation. The main character did feel a bit inconsistent to me - not quite as confident perhaps as we were lead to believe in a previous novel (* NOTE: this is a stand alone novel that does not need to be read in any particular order). Overall, engaging and a great read. I am really loving this author, but I’m sad that there is only 1 ore book of hers that I have not read. :-)

Awesome book with a lot of twists and turns.

Good but frustrating too.

This book is good, but the main character's discussions regarding her daughter is very irritating. Her insistence that her daughter stay at school even though a mad serial killer is stalking them is just beyond frustrating.
