Publisher Description
For sharp-tongued food critic Miranda Wake, the chance to spend a month in Adam Temple's kitchen to write an exposé is a journalistic dream come true. Surely Miranda can find a way to cut the hotshot chef down to size once she learns what really goes on at his trendy Manhattan restaurant. But she never expected Adam to find out her most embarrassing secret: she has no idea how to cook.
Adam's not about to have his reputation burned by a critic who doesn't even know the difference between poaching and paring. He'll just have to give the tempting redhead a few private lessons of his own—teaching her what it means to cook with passion…and doing more with his hands than simply preparing sumptuous food.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
The New York food world is startled and captivated when tart-tongued, no-holds-barred culinary critic Miranda Wake accepts innovative chef Adam Temple's dare to hold her own for a day in the kitchen of his fledgling Manhattan restaurant. Sparks are sure to fly-and they do, although not quite in the way everyone expects. A quirky cast of unconventional characters (an irrepressible rocker sous-chef and a young gay man are especially memorable) join a pair of prickly meant-for-each-other protagonists in a sexy romance. Verdict Exceptional culinary detail and page-singeing sexual chemistry combine with a fascinating group of characters to produce a sophisticated modern romance that ties into the current foodie craze. This debut-first in a projected "Recipe for Love" series-will win over most contemporary romance fans.-Kristin Ramsdell, California State Univ. Lib., East Bay .

Can't stand the heat
I feel she needed to disclose the gay romance side story. If I wanted to read a gay romance, I would have searched for it. Also, the " F" word is used so much that it does not show enough imagination. There are other less offensive words to use. I only read a quarter of the way through. What a waste of money.
