Heat seeker
Very Weak female character not one of her better books. I was very disappointed.
It was good, until…
In most books you catch things that were missed by editors. Usually small things- a word that should have been something different. It removes you from the story for a second or two.
It’s not usually an entire character. I’m at the ending of the book and it seems like all the sudden there’s someone named Jules!?!? I think it’s supposed to say Mary. Mary has been a minor character throughout the book. I confess to not reading this book closely as if analyzing a piece of great literature. I’m mostly here for the romance and spice. But I actually had to use the “find in this book” tool to look for “Jules”. She’s mentioned twice before she’s the hostage. No background is given to her in the sections where Jules comes up in the find feature. So either the name is wrong or Jules is a rando character mentioned in passing that the reader is supposed to care about at the height of drama in the book. It completely removes you from the story. Now, reading the ending of the book, all I can think is what in the world is going on.
