Personal Demons
I met the author on a plane from Singapore. After several hours of conversation, she revealed she was an author as well as a physical therapist and mom. Her first book was written for her daughter, but now she writes for herself.
We talked about books following formulas, and how, with time, some authors follow the same pattern, so you're reading roughly the same book as the last. Or...some authors, once successful, write bizarre or laborious books because they're famous, and they can.
This book, written for the teenage/ young adult audience, closely follows the rules of the genre. That doesn't make it any less entertaining. The story is good, there are novel threads, and just enough truth to keep you glued.
This book is a fun diversion!
