Publisher Description
Checking into a Colorado ski lodge for some serious downtime, bounty hunter Marc King wants nothing more than to cool off and chill out. But then he meets London Brooke. She's one of the hottest women Marc's ever met, and the sparks between them could melt the Rockies. But this beautiful, intelligent, and beguiling stranger is hiding a secret from Marc that could get them both killed…
London knows she can trust a man like Marc. But how can she tell him about the mysterious package she receives—and the photos that threaten to expose her past? With time running out, London has no choice but to draw Marc into a dangerous world of blackmail and revenge. As a professional, Marc can't refuse her. As a man, he can't resist her. But the deeper he falls, the deadlier the game. And if he doesn't play his cards right, he could lose London forever…
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
O'Clare's second Bounty Hunter novel (after Play Dirty) has a butt-kicking heroine and enough action to satisfy adrenaline junkies while leaving room for romance. After an unstable childhood, gorgeous London Brooke is content with her orderly life working at the Elk Ski Lodge in Aspen, Colo. Then bounty hunter Marc King shows up at her front desk and forces her to question whether her sheltered existence really counts as living. London isn't sure where her relationship with Marc is heading other than the bedroom, but when they both receive cryptic packages, they have to work together to save their families. If readers can accept occasional plot holes (why exactly do the bad guys want an army of bounty hunters?) and crude language (must Marc refer to London as his "woman"?), they'll find plenty of excitement and passion.
Customer Reviews
A great book.
This was a great book and series so far. I have enjoyed the bounty hunter scene. This is the first time I have read BH. Can't wait to read the next one. I did have to laugh at one scene though that caught my eye right away. When Marc says "Touch one head on her hair and I swear to god I'll kill you myself" don't know if it was supposed to be wrote that way or not but thought it was funny!! Great book a must read. :-)
