Publisher Description

Worlds closer to the galatic core than Known Space are --or were--home to intelligent speciers. Some learned of the core explosion in time to flee.

Destroyer of Worlds opens in 2670, ten years after Juggler of Worlds closes; with refugee species fleeing in an armada of ramscoops in the direction of the Fleet of Worlds. The onrushing aliens are recognized as a threat; they have left in their trail a host of desolated worlds: some raided for supplies, some attacked to eliminate competition, and some for pure xenophobia.

Only the Puppeteers might have the resources to confront this threat--but the Puppeteers are philosophical cowards... they don't confront anyone. They need sepoys to investigate the situation and take action for them. The source of the sepoys? Their newly independent former slave world, New Terra.

Destroyer Of Worlds

Outstanding story, especially the way Niven and Lerner maintain the integrity, not only of the characters in this trilogy, but also the way they weave together so many aspects of the Known Space universe.
I look forward to more stories. I hope they will be forthcoming.
The stories of Larry Niven and his corroborators remain my favorites in all of science fiction.

More books on super intelligent beings please!

I loved this. The first book in a while that illustrates about how the Pak Protecters think. And then the new super intelligence Ol't'ro ...

PLEASE write more books like this!

Few authors can illustrate beyond-human mental capacity so compellingly! They usually all kill off the super intelligent character as soon as it's created, or make that character aloof from the active story line. Cop outs. They're afraid or unable to deal with describing how such a being would think and act. Only Orson Scott Card succeeded in this with Ender's Game and the later Bean saga, but your characters go beyond even that!

Amazing!

Book 3 of 4

Make sure you read the previous books in the series first! Do yourself a favor and read a couple of Niven's short stories before that as well (Neutron Star, At The Core, and others).

Great storytelling, and absolutely amazing world-building and races.

If you like Sci-Fi or technology at all, you have to read this series.
