Publisher Description

From red-hot New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant comes NIGHT'S BLAZE (The Dark Kings): Part II, set in the lush Highlands of Scotland, where love and danger collide-and ignite...

He was virile, persuasive, and masculine. His rugged good looks turned heads, but in a suit, he looked dashing and powerful. A combination no woman could ignore. And he was sitting next to her. Lily wanted to run her fingers through his long, dark brown waves and pull his head down for a kiss. And if he didn't quit looking at her as if he wanted to take her right there, she just might.

Lily Ross is taking the first step in building a new life for herself. Still reeling from a relationship that nearly broke her spirit, Lily is wary of her attraction to brawny, brooding Rhys. The passion burning so brightly between them is a potent temptation, but any entanglement is destined to end in disaster. Yet when a spectre from Lily's past threatens their growing bond, Rhys is forced to choose with his heart, or lose this woman who has become his one chance at salvation...

I’m still a little lost but enjoying the story.

Part 2 covers chapters eleven through twenty.

It's really difficult to review this without giving anything away. Part II covered chapters eleven through twenty, and we learned more about Lily's past and her true identity. She struggled with Dennis' return, his threats and his attempt to blackmail her. The fact that she was torn between having to choose between her family and her adopted family at Dreagan showed that she deeply cared about both sides and her goodness. Obviously she didn't have all the information she needed to make a more informed decision. Regardless, the outcome is still unpredictable. Rhys and Lily grew closer, and their coming together just might end up being the deciding factor. I loved their evening together. They both opened up a little, sharing one or two secrets, and bared a little bit of themselves in the intensely sensual love scene.

Lily continued to impress me with her transformation, even if the outside was faster to change than the inside, but I applauded her determination to become the strong woman she'd been before Dennis. I was a little surprised that the sweet woman would contemplate murder, but I couldn't blame her.

Even though I'm still lost in regard to the overall plot regarding the Kings, the Dark, Con and Ulrik, the bits I've been able to piece together make it a great, suspenseful read. I found myself wondering if Ulrik really had become an enemy or was he working towards some other goal. I'm intrigued by Rhi and who was the King she was pining for. So many questions, but even if I don't get all the answers, I'm still enjoying this story immensely.

But once again, this is not a standalone friendly book/serial.
