Publisher Description

We are not guaranteed anything, not even this life.

Rivers Young is the popular guy untouchable by reality. He is like a star—bright, consuming, otherworldly. The thing about stars, though, is that they eventually fall, and he is no different. He falls far and he falls hard.

Delilah Bana is the outcast enshrouded in all of life's ironies. Alone, in the dark, like dusk as it falls on the world. When Rivers hits the ground, she is the night that catches him. In the darkness, they meld into something beautiful that shines like the sun.

Only, the greater the star is, the shorter its lifespan.

An emotional story that must be read. Make time in your day for this Unlit Star.

I love how Lindy slowly eases these characters into your heart. Each new layer adds a special place for them. Two characters who have grown up in the same town and gone to the same schools but do not really see each other. At times they would share a class or two and because Delilah is unique she would stand out when all she was really doing is being herself. Rivers would take notice but the moment would fade and life would move forward, not yet their time. Peoples lives intersect at interesting times and for them it was to heal and make Rivers live again. Rivers was a needed distraction for Delilah. The time had presented itself when both Delilah and Rivers needed to see each other.
We must share the same morbid curiosity about death and loss. I do enjoy your approach at reaching out to people who have lost. I love when the strength of one character helps strengthen another in the most subtle of ways. Lindy you must have encountered some amazing people in your life to find courage in these sad times.
People say, "everything happens for a reason, but it's how you decide to live that is important". Yeah! More metaphors. Lindy you seem to reflect on life quite a bit. You are like Yoda with wonderful wisdom and insight. You pull strength from words that triggers emotions from me.
I love how realistic this situation is. I can find familiarity with it. This story engulfed me. While I noticed a pattern in your some of your stories I'm still pleased with the overall turnout. Even with familiarity I found uniqueness.
Even though these characters are younger than me I still feel a connection with them. Maybe it's because I have teenagers myself and the thought of one of them going through this is soothing to know that other people are always there to help. People tend to bond with people for many different reasons. Their bond was unexpected and when all the signs were revealed it was ideal.
Lindy really covers all her bases in her thought process. Lindy has the timing down to perfection. Lindy releases the information of the story in a perfect sync. Never a stale moment. It flows. In fact it flows in such a manner that I want more to read.
As I lay here and read I feel a soothing calmness too me. I'm enjoying these memories being made by Delilah and Riders. I have a permanent smile on my face as I am reading. I love this blossoming relationship.
Lindy you made me cry. First when Delilah told her mom she loved her. Second when her mom asked how long. Third when Riders decided to make the most out of their summer. Basically from that point in the story until the end I was an emotional mess. I will never let their memory fade. These types of story have such a huge impact on my heart. What is amazing it how real you make the story. It was like watching a movie reel the entire time.

If you aren't really into the emotional side of life maybe you should or shouldn't read this. VERY SERIOUS AND EMOTIONAL. And not a normal love story but was still a very good book.
