Publisher Description

New York Times bestselling author Jessica Day George re-imagines the classic fairy-tale, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, in this start to an enchanting YA fantasy series.

Rose is one of twelve princesses--sisters condemned to dance every night in the palace of the King Under Stone. Galen is a young soldier returning from war. Together they will search for a way to break the curse that forces the princesses to attend the endless midnight balls. All they need is an invisibility cloak, a black wool chain knit with silver needles, and that most critical fairy tale ingredient--true love.

Page turning excitement

I have reread this book and the other two in the series, but this has to be the best one overall! When I begin to read it, I can’t stop. The suspense I just too much! One of my favorites to this day! (Found this book about 2-3 years ago in my middle school library when the English teacher told us we had to get at least one book)

Engaging Retelling of a Classic Fairytale

I grew up reading the original story of the 12 Dancing Princesses. This retelling doesn’t not disappoint one whit. It is full of engaging characters whose plights and triumphs left me wishing for more. I know this genre isn’t for everyone, but I adore this series, and recommend it to anyone who loves a good clean fairytale.
