TONGWAN CITY

Through stories of two figures, the author presents the Xiongnu nationality, an old nomadic people that profoundly rocked the foundation of the Eastern agricultural civilization and the Western Christian civilization, and even almost changed the process of the world. Such two figures are respectively the notorious Helian Bobo, the last chief of the Xiongnu nationality, and the wise man Kumārajīva, ancient Western China's No.1 eminent monk. The author also introduces how the Xiongnu nationality retreated from the stage of human history, how Buddhism entered China and how Chinese Buddhism was established.
