“A delicious escape.” —People
Love is in the salty sea air in this smart and steamy ensemble romantic comedy set in a tropical paradise, from the author of the “sparkly and entertaining” (Oprah Daily) It Had to Be You. This is one island you won’t want to be rescued from.
The Kellys are messy, loud, loving Australians. The Lees are sophisticated, aloof, buttoned-up Americans. They have nothing in common…except for the fact that their daughters are married. When a nearby volcano erupts during their short vacation to a remote tropical island off the coast of Queensland, the two families find themselves stranded together for six weeks.
With only two island employees making up the rest of their party, everyone is forced to question what—or who—they really want. Island Time is a sumptuous summer read that dives deep into queer romance, family secrets, ambition, parenthood, and a bird-chasing bromance. This sexy, sun-soaked paradise of white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush rainforest will show you it’s never too late to change your destiny.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
A woman's plan to have her extended family meet her almost-fiancé on a tiny, secluded island off the coast of Queensland, Australia, goes spectacularly wrong in this fun, steamy rom-com about finding love in unexpected places from Clark (It Had to Be You). Amelia's boyfriend, James, never makes it, and after a volcano erupts, Amelia; her parents; her older sister, Matty; Matty's wife, Parker; and Parker's parents all wind up stranded together on the beautiful but remote Mun'dai. With them are Liss Chambers, the island's caretaker, and Jarrah, a local ranger. These nine individuals—all with distinct (and big) personalities—must live in close proximity for six weeks with a diminishing food supply, sparking new romances between Amelia and Liss, and Amelia's mother, Jules, and Jarrah, and leading Matty and Parker to ponder their future. Clark's vibrant descriptions of the fictional island create a great sense of place, and Amelia and Matty's reckonings with family secrets and the challenges of career and maternity add some gravitas to the breezy proceedings. The result is a feel-good sapphic love story ideal for armchair travelers.

A Great Beach Read!
An entertaining book filled with unexpected events, drama, love, and Australian facts and history.
Set on an island in Australia, Amelia’s plan was to get everyone together in order for her boyfriend to meet her family for the very first time. Her boyfriend cancels last minute citing he was work commitments, but thinks he will arrive later in the trip. Her sister Matty, her wife Parker, her parents, and Parker’s parents all arrive for this family vacation. The two sets of parents couldn’t be more different. When a volcano strikes, they are left trapped on this island for 6 weeks as there has been a travel ban. Will this bring them closer together or will it cause a rift in the family? Will the boyfriend eventual make it to the island? What adventures will come of this?
Even though this book had a great story line, I found this book to be lengthy as it felt like you were with them for 6 weeks. A little less details of facts and history still would have made this story enjoyable! The story line and ending is what made this book 4 stars!!
A great beach or pool read as this book will keep you entertained!
