Publisher Description
Winnie-the-Pooh meets The Blair Witch Project in this very grown-up tale of a camping trip gone horribly awry. Twelve six-year-olds and their three adult chaperones head into the woods on a camping trip. None of them make it out alive. The Laws of the Skies tells the harrowing story of those days in the woods, of illness and accidents - and a murderous child. Part fairy tale, part horror film, this macabre fable takes us through the minds of all the members of this doomed party, murderers and murdered alike.

Good, Not Great
Certain parts kind of dragged. Took me a few weeks to really get into it, but then a lot of the chapters would go on for too long again, and ramble?
Also wasn’t a fan of the constantly shifting POV. It would take you out of the scenes and break the fourth wall unintentionally, making it difficult to really sink into the story.
Lastly, the POV of these 6 year olds is laughably too matured. At one point, the author uses the word “hemoglobin” as an actual term that one of the children is thinking of when witnessing a violent scene. It was strange and again, it takes you out of the story and makes you question why the author would choose to give 6 year olds pages and pages of monologues that sound like something a 42 year old would say in 1900. Very strange.
Otherwise, the story was fine and a bit overhyped? Was it graphic in parts? Sure. Am I going to lose sleep over it tonight? Absolutely not.
Would I recommend it? Not really. There’s better books out there right now that are more intense and will keep your attention across every page. *cough cough The Black Farm cough*
