Joachim takes a job working for Olivia as a lark and enjoys the whimsy of a different life for a few weeks, which turn to months as the unlikely employer and employee learn they enjoy working side by side. At the same time, Joachim discovers the family history he never knew: a criminal grandfather who died in prison, the wealthy father who abandoned him, and the dangerous criminal his twin has become. While Olivia struggles to put her life back together, Joachim’s comes apart.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Danielle Steel delivers a romantic tale of two independent people at a crossroads. After more than a decade as a high-class butler, Joachim loses his position after his employer’s death and returns to his elderly mother’s home in Paris. Olivia is also trying to figure out what’s next, following her mother’s death and the failure of her magazine. When the pair connect, we root for the second chance they’ve each been given—even when that’s threatened by secrets from Joachim’s past. The Butler took us on an emotional rollercoaster. It's a deeply felt look at love, loss, and how we can learn to redefine ourselves.
Customer Reviews
See AllGood easy read.
Interesting subject matter and setting.
Redundant Repetition
Too much repetition within the story line. The same info is repeated numerous times. It’s very distracting and annoying. I still love her stories.~
Great book
I highly recommend this book to anyone, I’m not the type to read but for the first time I read the whole book without actually stopping
