The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor

After a sumptuous wedding, the bride disappears during the party. The wealthy Lord Simon, the groom, doesn't know whether his new wife – Hetty Doran of San Francisco – is dead or alive, or if she's been kidnapped, or has left with another man behind his back. There had been some strange happenings before her disappearance, including at the wedding, when Hetty dropped her bouquet and a man at the front row of the church handed it back to her. After the ceremony and back at home, her mood had suddenly soured and she'd gone up to her room, from where she had vanished.
