Publisher Description
When the Nazis invaded Hungary in 1944, they sent virtually the entire Jewish population to Auschwitz. A Hungarian Jew and a medical doctor, Dr. Miklos Nyiszli was spared from death for a grimmer fate: to perform "scientific research" on his fellow inmates under the supervision of the infamous "Angel of Death": Dr. Josef Mengele. Nyiszli was named Mengele's personal research pathologist. Miraculously, he survived to give this terrifying and sobering account of the terror of Auschwitz.
This new Penguin Modern Classics edition contains an introduction by Richard Evans.

A must read!
I read the book in both english and hungarian. I think it is better in the original language however it was still remarkable in english.
Auschwitz,A Doctors Eyewitness Account
A most remarkable book that I couldn't put down and had to read straight thru, i tried to hold back my tears but in the end my heart wouldn't let me and I cried for all those poor people that had suffered,

You do not want to carry on reading this book as the description of what happened to Jewish race is hard to believe, but you have to carry on reading the book to understand what pain they went through, untrue.
