Publisher Description

Growing up in a mining community in rural South Wales, Huw Morgan is taught many harsh lessons. Looking back, where difficult days are faced with courage and the valleys swell with the sound of Welsh voices, it becomes clear that there is nowhere so green as the landscape of his own memory.

Amazing.

This is the most touching book I've ever read. It beats the Harry Potter series, the Twilight saga, Vampire Diaries, The Hunger games and many more. I'm half Welsh and my mum grew up in the valleys. It's a lovely insight. I'm studying this book and Border Country by Raymond Williams for my English dissertation and I'm glad I've found a book I feel so passionate about. It's absolutely gorgeous and you feel part of the book when you're reading it. This book is a MUST READ. It's happy but sad at the same time and takes you into the world of the Valleys where young Huw grew into a man and said goodbye to everything he once knew. Only book I've ever cried at. Absolutely amazing. 10/10.
