Charles Todd, a successful artist who paints horses, arrives at his cousin Donald's house and stumbles on a grisly scene:

Police cars everywhere, his cousin arrested for murder and Donald's wife brutally slain.

Believing - unlike the police - Donald's story of a burglary gone wrong, Charles follows clues which lead him from England to Australia, and to a diabolical scheme involving fraud and murder.

But soon Charles realises that someone is on his trail.

Someone who wants to make sure that Charles won't live long enough to save Donald . . .

Packed with intrigue and hair-raising suspense, In the Frame is just one of the many blockbuster thrillers from legendary crime writer Dick Francis.

Good read

Once started I was hooked & before I knew it the story was finished all too soon.

In the Frame

As a lifelong fan of Dick Francis, I re- read this book for the first time in almost 40 years. The only way it has dated is technology, otherwise it could have been written recently.
Set in England and Australia during the Melbourne Cup week, it moves along at a cracking rate. Great characters and a look into the world of artists as well as horses.
I read the bulk of the book whilst on holiday in Australia during Melbourne Cup week, which added an extra enjoyment to the tale.
High recommend it.
