Publisher Description
By night, Brian Johnson sings in the biggest rock 'n' roll band on the planet. But by day, AC/DC's charismatic, flat-capped frontman gets to indulge his passion for all things automotive.Cars and rock 'n'roll, they were made for each other.
Car racer, car collector and all-round car enthusiast, Johnson is an incurable, certifiable petrolhead who can't remember a time when four wheels didn't feature as large in his life as music.
Starting, as a young boy growing up in Tyneside, with an old steering wheel and his imagination, a lifelong passion took root early. And through cramped teenage fumbles in an old mini and clapped-out, hygienically challenged tour vans, to chauffeur-driven, leather-trimmed limos and a sideline as a successful racing driver, it's been there ever since.
By turns, surprising, joyful, poignant and usually laugh-out-loud funny, Rockers and Rollers is the story of man with an insatiable appetite for life and a glimpse into the extraordinary world of AC/DC, set soon to overtake the Beatles as the biggest selling-band in history.
Packed with hair-raising anecdotes and revealing a God-given talent for comic writing on every page, Brian Johnson has written the most unique, entertaining autobiography of the year. And essential reading for car nuts and rock fans.
Well that'll be most of us then ...
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
It's surprisingly refreshing that Johnson's lively memoir basically has little to do with writing about life with AC/DC it's really all about cars. The working-class singer was beginning a successful auto repair business when he joined AC/DC in 1980, and he still remains a gearhead at heart as well as an accomplished racecar driver and auto collector. In each of his more than 90 short and speedy chapters, Johnson offers personal vignettes and expert opinions about the many cars that he has loved and lost. You don't need to know anything about AC/DC to appreciate his funny and highly descriptive writing about everything from the Lotus Cortina Mk1 ("a brick with wheels") and the Citroen Maserati SM ("a beautiful creation that came straight from Hell") to the Rolls-Royce Phantom ("2.5 tons of hand-built sex, with a 7.2 BMW engine with twelve funnels of fun" and the Mini ("the Beatles of motorcars").

Rockers and Rollers
A great read from a self confessed car nut who clearly loves life as much as the automobile. Hilarious and thought provoking, read it, you will be happy you did.
A good laugh!
An excellent read with plenty of laughs...no real need to be in to cars or AC/DC to enjoy this book.
Rockers & Rollers
The read isn't what you would expect, not a lot about R'n'R but all about yer average geezer done good, some cracking one liners and a good giggle every other page, I worked with a few Musicians and I wished I had worked for this one, no BS, a man that's just living his life and shared a few story's. Get it ,you will enjoy, if ya like cars you will love it. Cheers
