I loved it
This is my first ever audiobook! Absolutely loved it!!!
A perfect confirmation bias novel for the Guardian Reader
Within the first few pages we were treated to two gay relationships, a critique on Mickey Rooney’s character in ironically one of the most romantic films ever made and a social justice rant about a favourite Christmas song that is apparently now considered misogynistic by the writer and her ilk. The novel not surprisingly is entirely predictable given the necessity to subscribe to woke ideology, “partners” are inevitably discovered to be homosexual of either the male or female variety and generally with an ethnic minority component, veganism rears its virtuous head as well as being against the fur trade, less than enthusiastic comments on Brexit of course, treatises on bullying of females in the workplace, listing of female guest names at a dinner, but “forgetting the names of their male partners and of course anything generally related to playing woke bingo will get a mention in this social justice manifesto masquerading as a romance novel. I removed the download and will not be purchasing anymore from this “writer”. If I want indoctrination in Diversity, Equality and Inclusivity I’ll re-enroll as a primary school student, until then I’ll look elsewhere for actual romance novels.
