Two exes. One pact.
Could this holiday change everything?
Harriet and Wyn are the perfect couple - they go together like bread and butter, gin and tonic, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
Every year, they take a holiday from their lives to drink far too much wine with their favourite people in the world.
Except this year, they are lying through their teeth, because Harriet and Wyn broke up six months ago. And they still haven't told anyone.
But the cottage is for sale so this is the last time they'll all be here together. They can't bear to break their best friends' hearts so they'll fake it for one more week.
But how can you pretend to be in love - and get away with it - in front of the people who know you best?
Brimming with characters you can't help but fall for and off-the-charts chemistry, HAPPY PLACE is Emily Henry doing what she does best!

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Emily Henry fans will know what to expect by now: There will be a summery backdrop, there will be romance, and there will be a main character you either relate heavily to or wish to be. The slight twist with Happy Place is that Harriet and Wyn are already a couple—or at least they used to be, until very recently. Now, for the duration of a weekend in Maine, they must keep up the charade as they try to avoid spoiling the wedding weekend of a very close friend. There are plenty of beloved tropes here, from forced proximity to found-family, but as always Henry ensures every chapter has you swiping forward to the next. In a way, it’s like she has plucked the best parts of her back catalogue and spun them together to create Happy Place. Dare it be said, the Harriet-Wyn romance might not even be the novel’s standout storyline.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Exes must pretend they're still together in this delightful Summery rom-com from bestseller Henry (Book Lovers). Burned out surgical resident Harriet Kilpatrick is eager for a relaxing weeklong getaway with her tight-knit friend group at the remote Maine beach cottage they've frequented. Then she arrives and discovers that Wyn Connor will also be there for the week. Wyn and Harriet were the perfect couple in college, and then the perfect fiancés, but they broke up six months ago and have yet to tell their friends. With the cottage up for sale, Harriet is determined not to ruin the gang's last summer getaway, meaning she and Wyn must pretend to be happily in love. It's awkward at first—compounded by the fact that, of course, there's only one bed for the two of them—but soon they fall back into a familiar dynamic and old flames reignite. The chemistry between Wyn and Harriet is addictive, and both display some refreshing vulnerability. The lovable friend group, unusual but welcome in a Henry novel, help push the narrative forward and provide plenty of wit. This has the makings of a rom-com classic.

Good story about love and friendship
The blurb/ cover doesn’t really set up what the book is about and makes it seem more basic than it actually is.
Good summer read where you know what to expect but with some twists along the way. Pulls at the heart strings for both romantic and platonic love. Recommend reading as a summer beach read.
A great holiday read!
A lovely light book with a gentle, satisfying plot, perfect for a holiday. Not sure this is a book that will stick with me for a long time, and the characters do lack a bit of subtlety, but it was a happy and predictable story delivering warm fuzzy feelings, and no risk of killing your holiday buzz. I would recommend it to a friend.
Perfect
I didn’t want the story to end!
