Very good
While I did enjoy the book as a complete contrast to my normal reading matter, I felt it was aimed at a younger reader than me.
It was mainly the obsession with alcohol that put me off a bit and stopped me giving the book 5*. Every character seemed to drink copious amounts of anything and everything at every opportunity. Call me old fashioned but I don’t think that excessive drinking should be used as humour or to entertain. It was fundamental to the story.
There were some genuinely funny parts which even had me sniggering aloud a couple of times. This doesn’t often happen with other so-called humorous books.
I may adopt Aisling’s mother’s saying, on seeing someone inappropriately dressed, along the lines that I hope they get the weather that they seem to be expecting.
Loved it!
Great book, a taste of Ireland while still being something people from other countries can relate to in terms of the office environment, living with housemates etc. Can’t wait for the sequel.
