Publisher Description
The fully updated and revised edition of Baby-led Weaning is a practical and authoritative guide to introducing solid food, enabling your child to grow up a happy and confident eater. It shows parents why baby-led weaning makes sense and gives them the confidence to trust their baby's natural skills and instincts.
Filled with practical tips for getting started and the low-down on what to expect, Baby-led Weaning explodes the myth that babies need to be spoon-fed and shows why self-feeding from the start is the healthiest way for your child to develop. Your baby is allowed to decide how much they want to eat, how to eat it and to experiment with everything at their own pace.
Baby-led weaning is a common-sense, safe, easy and enjoyable approach to feeding your baby. No more purées and weaning spoons, and no more mealtime battles. Simply let your baby feed himself healthy family food.

Must have
Forget spoons and purees this is the way forward my daughter is 16 months has been eating the same food as us since 6 months and hasn't had any of the fussy faddy stages that all my friends babies have had. I let her be the judge of how much she eats and meal times are always relaxed never a battle!!
Waste of money and tine
The tone of this book is preachy and judgemental which can override the important science and research sections contained in the book. I bought the book as I was already sold on baby led weaning and wanted help with how to approach it, not why I should do it. I now realise there is a cookbook which might have more practical information to help with my baby’s journey
Very useful
I used the advice in this book when my son was starting to eat and I'm very happy with the results. He enjoys food and eats a range, and he eats what and how much his body tells him he needs. Some days more, some days less, some days lots of meat, some days lots of carbs. Veg was a bit of a latecomer and my husband was worried and wanted to persuade him to have some but he is just starting to eat more of the veg he is offered now at 19 months. Highly recommended!
