Publisher Description
'This is the Star Wars of every horror fan's dreams-gory, funny, and brimming with a blood-spattered cast of swashbucklers and space-zombies.' Seth Grahame-Smith, author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
When the Imperial prison barge Purge-temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy's most ruthless killers, Rebels, scoundrels, and thieves-breaks down in a distant part of space, its only hope appears to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party from the Purge is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back-bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours, nearly all aboard the Purge die in ways too hideous to imagine.
And death is only the beginning.
The Purge's half-dozen survivors will do whatever it takes to stay alive. But nothing can prepare them for what lies waiting aboard the Star Destroyer. For the dead are rising: soulless, unstoppable, and unspeakably hungry.

A real Star Wars Horror
I really liked this book
Zombies in space is always a good story for a setting, but given that it’s the Star Wars setting, it oozes with ten times as much horror atmosphere.
Lots of scares and twists
I would have liked a couple more chapters that were devoted to character like Sartoris’ change of heart
Even though this is a legends book, I’d love to see them make a mini series or horror film out of this material one day
Not sure if I preferred it with completely new characters only though, and to not throw in any established ones from Star Wars. I don’t think they added much to it. It was good all the same though
Outstanding!
I do not, and rarely find a point in, leaving reviews on anything. Personally, I don’t think people take reviews seriously but this book is a masterpiece.
If you read anything of the horror genre, no matter what it is, you should give this a read because boy did it have me on the edge of my seat the entire way through.
Slow burn at the start, making me wonder what was gonna happen next in an almost childlike inquisitiveness only to regret my decision to turn the next page and continue reading.
You will fall in love with the characters that are the main vocal point, and you will cry when things happen to them. Plus, there’s SPACE ZOMBIES!
What’s not to love?
Pretty good.
This review is not intended to sound negative, so please read it all the way through.
Overall the eBook is a good read if you like the subject matter of Star Wars and zombies.
The author had a slightly less common approach to the zombie genre but for the most part it was a good thing.
The only issues are the author's needless use of obscure metaphors that are so random, they took my mind away from what I was reading about and thus, the fluidity of reading was lost.
Coupled with that are words that most people would not understand. Almost as if the author were using his extensive vocabulary to either gloss over the (minor) cracks in the story or to show the reader how well educated he is.
Also, the constant use of assumptions, coincidences and conveniences drags the book into being predictable at times, and gives rise to some odd turns in the storyline.
Despite it being a story based on zombies, there is surprisingly little description of the "gory parts". However, this doesn't really affect what is, all in all, a fun storyline.
I still gave it four stars because I was able to ignore the slight flaws and enjoy it relatively easily.
The story and attention to small details were both good. The characters were believable throughout when you consider it being set in the Star Wars universe.
In summary, the book was thoroughly enjoyable and I will now purchase and read Joe Schreiber's second book in this genre as a result.
Well worth the money for any Star Wars and / or Zombie novel fan.
Thanks.
