Very funny
A scabious tale from an insider of the last high days of British print newspapers - immoral, hypocritical, self-satisfied. No wonder they're all moribund now...
Wonderfully dated tale with some excellent lines
Well worth a read as a dissection of journalism, an immorality tale and a sad description of the lower lives in London in the nineties.
It is very nostalgic - the possession of a mobile phone was a huge status symbol. The current affairs are "fresh" in the twenty year old memory circuits.
But the imitative counterpoint is artful and the points are well made. Life as a working woman-especially in journalism- is painted as complex, morally confusing and emotionally exhausting!
