Publisher Description

I've lost it. The only thing in the world I wasn't supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It's been in Magnus's family for three generations. And now, the very same day his parents are coming, I've lost it. The very same day. Do not hyperventilate Poppy. Stay positive!!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry the ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her 'happy ever after' begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring but in the panic that followed, she has now lost her phone. As she paces shakily round the hotel foyer she spots an abandoned phone in a bin. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!

Well, perfect except the phone's owner, businessman Sam Roxton doesn't agree. He wants his phone back and doesn't appreciate Poppy reading all his messages and wading into his personal life.

What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other's lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents... she soon realises that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

Love By Chance

Poppy thinks she has all of her boxes ticked. A job she loves, great friends and to top it all she is getting married to the man of her dreams Marcus. All sounds well on paper. Her antique emerald engagement ring is one she loves. She lets her friends try it on all the time and thinks nothing of it. She is at a hotel with her friends and the fire alarm goes off.

What follows is a hilarious and farcical chain of events including her searching for her ring, her phone being stolen and finding a discarded phone in the bin. Well this phone is the key to a change in her life and shocks and surprises galore including the owner of the mobile….. I fell in love with this book my first Sophie Kinsella Book and definitely not my last.

Shame about the main character

I don’t know what it is about Sophie Kinsella books, they are readable, but ALL and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE of her protagonists are blatantly naïve, entitled, upper middle class white women who are frankly total Karen’s. I wish she could write someone who was likeable because her books are always good fun, it’s just infuriating how self congratulatory, interfering, judgy and selfish they are and this one Poppy might be the worst yet!

Couldn’t stop lostening

I don’t usually review books as everyone’s taste is so varied so giving my opinion doesn’t mean anything to anyone else, but I just couldn’t put this book down (stop listening to it). As a standard, these sorts of books have a very predictable storyline but this actually had me rather gripped. Great easy listen.!
