Excellent read - an unexpected joy!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, and only downloaded it as it was on offer, as is so often the case with the first of a series. Wow - what a great surprise! Supernatural/ witchcraft novels are not usually my choice, but this was a great read. The development of characters was well thought through, and I found myself quickly developing an empathy for Meg, and an understanding of how Elizabeth may have been during her exile from court. The historical details, and clever ways that we are given fictional viewpoints on real events made his book impossible to put down. I finished it in record time and went straight to download the other two books in the series. Hopefully this is not the last we will hear of Meg and Alejandro.
