Publisher Description
This epic trilogy by Robert Harris includes his bestselling novels: Imperium, Lustrum and Dictator
Imperium - Compellingly written in Tiro's voice, Imperium takes us inside the violent, treacherous world of Roman politics, to describe how one man - clever, compassionate, devious, vulnerable - fought to reach the top.
Lustrum - From the discovery of a child's mutilated body, through judicial execution and a scandalous trial, to the brutal unleashing of the Roman mob, Lustrum is a study in the timeless enticements and horrors of power.
Dictator - Riveting and tumultuous, Dictator encompasses some of the most epic events in human history yet is also an intimate portrait of a brilliant, flawed, frequently fearful yet ultimately brave man – a hero for his time and for ours.
This is an unforgettable collection from a master storyteller.

Where do I go now?
In my ignorance, I had read nothing by Robert Harris until hearing him on the radio talking about his book Munich. The interview around the story sounded so intriguing I bought the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Robert Harris’s style and attention to detail make him very readable. So I moved on to his Cicero trilogy, which I would recommend to anyone and have recommended it to everyone I have spoken about it.
You don’t have to be interested in ancient history to read this, as it speaks on many different levels; of power and politics, of ethics and ruthless people, of individuals caught-up in “interesting times”. All very well written and researched. Cicero is both a giant and very human and something of his struggles could fit in with many periods of history, including our own.
But what to read next?
