A slow burner
Not as good as the first book, but once the book gets going, it’s an enjoyable read.

Great follow up to Ready Player One. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Entertaining emptiness
Ready player two makes for a good ride and has many nods to popular culture which are enjoyable. And the story is compelling and drives your to the end which is a safe ending well within the frame of the world of Mr Clives’ creation.
Within that frame we are treated to a wild ride across time and space and some really exciting and thoughtful storytelling.
My feeling on my rating is that despite the revisiting of Wade watts and the OASIS being fun and compelling reading I was still confronting a wall of disappointment that the characters always seem to be riding the coat tails of much more impressive and interesting characters like Kira and Og and the omnipresent Haliday.
The main characters never create or change the OASIS or improve or even impact on the dying earth.
Overall this was another Gunter raid and although more character focused it left the reader with the same questions as ready player one.
Fun and easy to read but falls short of excellence.
