I know you don’t know me but you have to help me. I didn’t kill anyone.

When Rowan stumbles across the advert, it seems like too good an opportunity to miss: a live-in nanny position, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when she arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten by the luxurious ‘smart’ home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family.

What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare – one that will end with a child dead and her in a cell awaiting trial for murder.

She knows she’s made mistakes. But she’s not guilty – at least not of murder. Which means someone else is…

Great Ending!

This was the first audiobook I’ve listened to and I thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve read almost all of Ruth Wares books so I thought I’d listen to this one instead. I was gripped from the start and I really enjoyed the ending.

Turn of the Key

I found this book a little tedious. There were some good twist and turns but not as suspenseful as I had hoped. A main problem is the narrator as the book is told in the first voice. She tends to be whiny and unbelievable. None of the characters are likeable. The house was probable the most interesting. It never seemed to reach its potential.

Disappointing and underwhelming

The book was ok until the ending which was a real anticlimax. Lots of loose ends.
