Great start....slow end.
First third of the book is gripping and fast paced, and theN It just tails off. I hope it’s just a slow start to a great series. Jedi are strong and cool with great new powers. Just need a story to match.
A look at an era far from the films
A look at what the galaxy and the Jedi were like hundreds of year prior to episode 1, I look forward to seeing where the story goes but perhaps there’s to many characters in this book to keep up with for a jumping off point into a new series with all new characters (which for some is probably a relief after a less than stellar trilogy of films)It’s especially jarring in the beginning with the disaster that keeps jumping back and and forth with so many characters that lengthened the beginning longer than it should, add to the fact the characters are very by the numbers, I also don’t see the nihil as a really credible threat at all to the republic and the Jedi especially if they’re at the height of their strength in this era as the nihil are little more than just smart pirates, overall it’s a starting point to a new series so perhaps bigger reveals and events will happen down the line, it’s not the best Star Wars book, far from it but I’m curious to see where and if the story picks up over the next few books in this new series.
