Loved it
Really enjoy her books. This one in particular
Too many flaws
Unfortunately this book doesn’t seem up to LG’s high standards. It takes too long to start with too many back-story episodes. The tension builds well but the first climax is unbelievable and unnecessary. The final denouement came out of nowhere and resulted from information never even hinted at. Meanwhile, much of the conversations that you may have thought would impact the ending turned out to be wholly irrelevant to the story.
In the Acknowledgments LG talks about the impact of the Covid restrictions on the writing of this book and so hopefully this will be a one off.
Not sure what the fuss is about
Found this quite turgid and often resorted to speed reading to get though the detail. Quite a good plot but not enough substance for a full novel and definitely not a page turner apart from a few episodes
