So, at 37 years of age, she exits retirement and launches a comeback to chase down one last title. Told primarily in the first person but dotted with interview transcripts, the story is brilliantly written, neatly folding together a fast-paced sports drama with a layered character study about ambition and vulnerability. You don’t have to be a tennis fan to revel in the tense and tumultuous ride that is Carrie’s final year as a pro.
